Sterling News
December 2004
Sterlings global operations in the USA, China, Japan, Singapore, Korea, and the United Kingdom collectively achieved a 35% increase in sales over the corresponding three quarters for the year 2003. These results remain in line with the sales goals projected for the year 2004 and reflect sales increases in all geographical areas and substantial increases in both China and the USA.
Office moves:
In October Sterling moved its USA Headquarters to the 10th floor of the Esplanade III Building in the Biltmore complex at the corner of 24th and Camelback adjacent to the Ritz Carleton Hotel in midtown Phoenix. The new address is 2415 E. Camelback Road, Suite 1090, Phoenix Arizona 85016. Sterling will be adding to its USA executive search and consulting staff at the Esplanade office over the next several months.
Sterling, under the guidance of Michael Beer and Penny Bailey, has moved its London UK branch office to expanded space at Claxton House, 2 Farrington Road, London ECIM3HN.

New Services:
In response to client demand Sterling has created a College Recruiting Division at its Shanghai office focusing on identifying upper level management trainees using a unique selection methodology. In 2001 Sterling began considering college recruiting after completing a research project for Intel that identified the Universities in China offering programs in certain educational categories. The research concluded that the programs offered by almost all the Universities identified were of high quality and the Universities were graduating highly qualified candidates with degrees in disciplines of interest to Intel. In the past, Sterling had limited its executive search activities to finding candidates with substantial business experience. The extraordinary business expansion in China and the resulting demand for entry level candidates has influenced Sterling to enter the college recruitment arena.

The Singapore office, under the guidance of David Lim, is expanding its list of services to include a division devoted to human resource consulting. The services will include executive coaching, executive assessment, employee testing, related surveys, organizational design, and turnover analysis. The Singapore office will work closely with the Mobley Group China in developing this area of business.
