Description:
- Provide strategic vision for chemistry opportunities to product team leaders - Drive commercial value of chemistry team within company - Manage and augment a small yet agile medicinal chemistry team in Singapore - Manage contract research organizations located globally - Manage infrastructure and laboratory practices to ensure efficient research operations, record keeping and communication. - Manage daily research efforts in the area of medicinal chemistry. - Provide thought and insight into the growth of the research and development organization particularly in the areas of chemical manufacturing control (CMC) and formulations. - Mentor the junior members of the medicinal chemistry department. - Keep abreast of project related chemistry and biology literature and disseminate that information to the junior staff. - Administrative/Reports/Presentations/Updates - Ability to live in Singapore and travel frequently to the U.S.
Requirements:
- Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry and 6-10 years industry experience. - Proven track record managing major projects of a complex nature which have a company-wide impact. - An entrepreneurial spirit and ability to execute independently a wide variety of assignments of both a scientific and business nature. - Ability to advance new ideas or initiate the introduction of new technology that serves to advance the goals of discovery research. - Expected to make pivotal contributions to the discovery of new chemical entities (NCE’s) for clinical development. - Superior communication and data organizing skills. - Proven leadership skills, strong problem solving skills requiring the highest application of scientific theory or technical methodology. - Will have played a major role in the development of a drug in a pharmaceutical company. - Will be capable of assembling the CMC section of an IND in a thorough and timely manner. - Capable to serve as the director of pre-clinical development activities for an NCE. - Will be familiar with the issues related to developing a scaleable synthetic protocol from an un-optimized laboratory scale protocol. - Will be familiar with the process of transferring an optimized synthetic protocol for the synthesis of an NCE to a CRO.
